Senior Market Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Market Data Analysis & Support:
  • Analyze real-time and historical market data to support trading desks, risk teams, and research functions across asset classes (Equities, FI, FX, Derivatives).
  • Monitor data quality, completeness, latency, and consistency across multiple market data sources and platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, pricing breaks, and corporate action-related issues in coordination with vendors and internal teams.
• Data Governance & Controls:
  • Maintain strong data governance practices, including data lineage, usage controls, entitlement management, and audit readiness.
  • Support compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to market data usage and reporting.
  • Document data definitions, workflows, and control procedures for audit and regulatory reviews.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as a key liaison with external market data vendors (e.g., exchanges, index providers, data aggregators).
  • Support vendor onboarding, contract reviews, usage analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Work closely with front office, risk, compliance, operations, and technology teams to understand evolving data requirements.
• Reporting & Analytics:
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical insights on market data usage, trends, and costs.
  • Support regulatory and management reporting related to pricing data, valuation controls, and data sourcing.
  • Contribute to automation and analytics initiatives leveraging BI and data platforms where applicable.
• Process Improvement & Transformation:
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, automation, and operational efficiency across the market data lifecycle.
  • Participate in data platform modernization, cloud migration, or AI/analytics initiatives related to market data.
  • Support UAT and change management for market data systems and feeds.

Job Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–8+ years of experience in market data analysis, securities operations, risk analytics, or financial data management within a bank or securities firm.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments, pricing concepts, and market conventions.
• Experience working with market data platforms, feeds, and reference data (real-time and historical).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate data issues and communicate findings clearly.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience supporting trading desks or risk management teams in a securities or investment banking environment.
• Knowledge of Japanese market structure, exchanges, and regulatory expectations.
• Exposure to data visualization, BI tools, or analytics platforms.
• Understanding of data governance, controls, and audit requirements in regulated environments

Language Skills: Business  Level Japanese(JLPT N2) and Business Level English
