Job Summary 

The Sales Manager, JP, will oversee commercial development and partner management across Japan and South Korea. Based in Tokyo, this role will drive sales growth through strong distributor networks, business development, and brand expansion. The position requires a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and an ability to navigate multiple markets and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales strategy and business development across NEA markets, aligned with AP commercial priorities.
  • Manage and expand distributor and partner relationships to maximize regional coverage and performance.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities, including direct key accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure optimal pricing, forecasting, and logistics coordination.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with partners and provide market feedback to inform product and marketing strategies.
  • Support the Sales Director – AP in budgeting, quarterly reviews, and long-term business planning.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B or distributor sales, ideally in consumer goods, packaging, or industrial products in Japan and South Korea. 
  • Strong understanding of the NEA market and commercial environment
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and driving sustained growth.
  • Experience in packaging, materials, or industrial solutions industries; knowledge of sustainable packaging trends and regulations is a strong plus.
  • Strong client network in consumer goods, CPG, packaging, or related sectors.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a nimble, scaling organization
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region (up to 50%).
  • Fluent in English, Japanese, and any other NEA language. Multilingual ability is highly desirable. 

Technical Skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and resolve complex pre-sales technical problems. 
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams across multiple regions or divisions

Management Skills 

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making

Location : Ideally based in Japan; however, we are open to candidates located in South Korea as well.
